An aircraft carrying Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday following a fracture was found in the jet's front window, per an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event isn't the first time that a United States armed forces jet carrying a senior official has experienced mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet carrying Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was forced to turn back to the US capital after experiencing a mechanical fault.
