The rising star maintains substantial social media audience
Kai Trump will have numerous prominent cheerleaders as she makes her professional golf debut later this week.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is related to a former US president, was granted a sponsor's invitation to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, possesses numerous international courses and regularly matches against Kai.
"He's pretty good. I can't say much but we play some close matches," she stated.
The golfer shared that Trump, unable to come, told her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He essentially advised me to play and have fun," she continued.
"To me, he's simply a regular grandfather. He won't be there this weekend. He's focused on running the country, so he's somewhat preoccupied."
While still amateur, the golfer has played in only three events this year and holds position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association standings.
However she can receive tips from 15-time major champion, who is dating her mother.
"He stands as the best player globally," the young golfer said.
"Furthermore, he's a more impressive human being. He advised me to go out there, enjoy myself, and go with the flow."
Kai will face multiple the biggest names in the sport at the Annika, such as second-ranked Nelly Korda, England's Charley Hull, professional Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA stated that Kai's presence brings the sport to wider groups, particularly with youth audiences.
The young star has millions of followers and just introduced her own fashion and living company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
