Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. The platform was lately surpassed in sales by a platform few have heard of. Platform-specific outlets are now publishing content on PS5 topics unprecedentedly. 2025 was an era of significant turmoil for Xbox and Microsoft. Yet, based exclusively on the titles headed to the service in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft remains determined to draw people in with strong games on its key platform.
The two games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. The true anticipation is for the upcoming titles to Game Pass in the coming weeks that's worth getting excited about.
Come mid-January, the platform will add the underrated Star Wars Outlaws, a vast exploration title that deviates from typical Ubisoft design with a space-faring criminal escapade. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, previously described as "a superb mixture of horror and action."
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service are quite compelling. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, a fantastic but under-the-radar dungeon crawler that's a blast to play, becomes available next week — and it's worth experiencing regardless of whether you played the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year could captivate you remarkably quickly.
Atomfall, a survival title with stealth elements by the developers behind Sniper Elite, also warrants your attention. Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to get excited about.
Ultimately, these titles aren't industry-shaking releases to Game Pass, and they are also not massive exclusive blockbusters that are the sole reason for the service alone. But Microsoft's additions here are exceptionally strong. There's a good mixture of older titles you may have skipped and relatively recent releases that didn't get the attention they deserved the first time around — transforming them into perfect candidates to get a second chance on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, as it happens.
